Asshole eludes bike patrol for 15 minutes and lands in the lake with police jumping in after him

Bike Patrol jumps in to the Lake to catch a Offender who eluded police and falls in to the drink by the old coast gaurd center on 63rd Street (Hayes Dr) . Marine unit called,  340 with a ladder in the Squad is able to pull both to safety. Way to go 340 and all the uniforms on the lake. EMS was called for both. No serious injuries to the officer and unfortunately the same for the piece of shit who ran
Sarge's Life saving award goes to 340 Merit and valor go to the officer who went in after the dumb fuck. I don't know if it was me I'd let him drown but since there was a crowd I guess I would have done the same thing.

Chicago recieved 1.58 millinoin from NATO on WED and the funds have been allocated in places then the resources it used

Daley spoke with the editor's of the Sarge. Daley stated " As Mayor I was not going to say to the POTUS but after his party in Grant Park and nothing financially recovered from him or his party for police, street cleaning and riot control. So if I was still in office when he came with the NATO I would have said NO and if you want it that bad then come up with the funds first or you can hold it at Camp David".

This Mayor promised big funding and promised a better economy if we held NATO. UM a month has passed what did you do with the funds tight wide. We know it went in yours and Obama's pockets instead of allocating it to the city so again tax payers paid for shit and not getting our money back and your still crying broke hmmmmmmmmm INVESTIGATE and IMPEACH or RECALL

Policing the NATO summit last month racked up about $15 million in overtime for Chicago Police officers, Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration said Friday as it released documents seeking reimbursement for the costs from the federal government and the summit host committee.

The city sent letters dated June 29 to multiple government agencies asking for the release of funds earmarked for the city’s NATO costs. That includes $7.5 million designated by Congress when the NATO summit received National Special Security Event status, as well as another nearly $4 million in federal grant funds.

In the preparations for NATO, Emanuel had tasked his business development group, World Business Chicago, with leading the planning and fundraising efforts for the summit. The group raised about $33 million in private funds, pledging about $19 million of that to defraying any city costs not covered by the federal government. However, Friday’s requests from the host committee totaled just $1.9 million.

Emanuel’s spokeswoman, Sarah Hamilton, said that the current tally for police overtime costs associated with NATO was $14.6 million, but there could be some minimal further expenses straggling in over the next month.

“It's possible there could be some additional hours that were unaccounted for in the first round (not huge numbers), but this is the overwhelming majority,” Hamilton wrote in an email Friday.

Update from Miami Police: Rudy Eugene: No Bath Salts, Only Marijuana Found In Face-Eater Toxicology Tests

It wasn't bath salts.
According to a full toxicology report released Wednesday afternoon by the Miami-Dade medical examiner, the only drug detected in the lifeless body of infamous Miami face-chewer Rudy Eugene was marijuana.
"The department's toxicology laboratory has identified the active components of marijuana," the medical examiner said in a statement, according to NBC Miami. "The laboratory has tested for but not detected any other street drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs...This includes cocaine, LSD, amphetamines (Extasy, Meth and others), phencyclidine (PCP or Angel Dust), heroin, oxycodone, Xanax, synthetic marijuana (Spice), and many other similar compounds."
The medical examiner's office had a second forensic toxicology lab confirm the absence of common ingredients of bath salts, a synthetic amphetamine cocktail blamed in several recent incidents that bear some similarity to Eugene's attack.
"Within the limits of current technology by both laboratories," stated the press release from Medical Examiner Dr. Bruce Hyma, "marijuana is the only drug identified in the body of Mr. Rudy Eugene."
The report did not address previously reported autopsy findings of what appeared to be undigested pills in Eugene's stomach, according to the Miami Herald, and an expert told the Associate Press marijuana alone was not likely to cause such an attack:
"The problem today is that there is an almost an infinite number of chemical substances out there that can trigger unusual behavior," said Dr. Bruce Goldberger, Professor and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida.Goldberger said that the medical examiner's office in Miami is known for doing thorough work and that he's confident they and the independent lab covered as much ground as possible. But it's nearly impossible for toxicology testing to keep pace with new formulations of synthetic drugs.
"...The challenge today for the toxicology lab is to stay on top of these new chemicals and develop methodologies for them, but it's very difficult and very expensive." Goldberger said. "There is no one test or combination of tests that can detect every possible substance out there."

The medical examiner's office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Eugene, 31, was widely speculated to have been on some form of synthetic drugs or suffering a drug-induced psychosis the afternoon of May 26 when he stripped naked and brutally attacked homeless resident Ronald Poppo in broad daylight along Miami's busy MacArthur Causeway, chewing and ripping off roughly half of the older man's face.
A police officer responding to multiple 911 calls shot and killed Eugene as he crouched over Poppo, reportedly refusing to stop the gruesome assault by growling at the officer with Poppo's flesh in his mouth.
The 18-minute attack and its aftermath were captured on surveillance video from the Miami Herald's parking garage, but it is still unknown what prompted Eugene to commit such a horrific crime.
According to Local10, the former North Miami Beach High School football player was once diagnosed as schizophrenic after an arrest, but authorities are not sure if he ever sought treatment.
Records show Eugene had been arrested 8 times since the age of 16, including 4 instances involving marijuana. But though he was once accused of threatening to kill his mother, friends and family members alike say they never expected such violence from Eugene, who was participating in a Bible study, reading the Koran, and telling friends he wanted to stop smoking marijuana.
"There's no answer for it, not really," Eugene's younger brother, Marckenson Charles, told the AP. "Anybody who knew him knows this wasn't the person we knew him to be. Whatever triggered him, there is no answer for this."
Poppo, meanwhile, is doing "well," according to doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. The 65-year-old has lost one eye, is missing his nose, and faces a string of surgeries to repair his wounds and reconstruct his face.
"We have mental health professionals to help him with the coping, and he's coping remarkably well," said plastic surgeon Dr. Wrood Kassira.

CHICAGO (CBS) – Mayor Rahm Emanuel will seek to revise the city’s gun control ordinance, after a federal judge ruled part of the 2010 law is unconstitutional.

Last week, U.S. District Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan struck down a portion of the Chicago Firearm Ordinance that barred anyone convicted of “unlawful use of a weapon” from obtaining a city gun permit. He ruled that section was too vague and unfairly barred people with non-violent gun convictions from ever again owning a firearm in Chicago.
“The Chicago Firearm Ordinance basically provides that anyone convicted of a nonviolent misdemeanor offense relating to a firearm is forever barred from exercising his constitutional right to possess a firearm in his own home for self-defense,” Der-Yeghiayan wrote. “There is something incongruent about a non-violent person, who is not a felon, but who is convicted of a misdemeanor offense of simple possession of a firearm, being forever barred from exercising his constitutional right to defend himself in his own home in Chicago against felons or violent criminals.”
The judge also noted different states define “unlawful use of a weapon” differently; in some states, the crime includes simply carrying a gun in public, in others it includes only firing a weapon, or possessing one with the intent of doing harm.
Der-Yeghiayan ruled in favor of Chicago resident Shawn Gowder, who was denied a city gun permit because of a misdemeanor conviction for unlawful use of a weapon. The judge ruled Gowder’s Second Amendment right to bear arms was violated by being denied a gun permit for a non-violent misdemeanor conviction.
The mayor said the proposed revision to the gun ordinance would do away with the portion banning permits for anyone with a conviction for unlawful use of a weapon, but noted the ordinance is only part of the city’s anti-crime strategy.
“Having strong gun laws is complementary to putting more police on the street, which is also complementary to getting kids into after-school activities or summer camps … to also making sure that you lock up the hard criminals,” Emanuel said.
The existing gun ordinance was passed in 2010, after the U.S. Supreme Court tossed out Chicago’s ban on possessing handguns within city limits, ruling it violated the Second Amendment right to bear arms.

Eric Holder under gun fire from congress could face impeachment along with Obama

Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. refused to say today whether he would consider resigning if a federal probe into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ disastrous “Fast and Furious” operation threatens President Obama’s re-election.
The question was posed to Holder by a Herald reporter at the Seaport World Trade Center, where he delivered a keynote address on the state of civil rights to a packed room of federal prosecutors and local law enforcement. Holder kept on walking and didn’t answer.
In just two days, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to take a historic vote, potentially to hold Holder in contempt of Congress for allegedly refusing to turn over documents about the two-year gun-tracking investigation in Mexico that resulted in the murder of a Border Patrol agent.

A self-effacing Holder drew awkward laughs from the symposium hosted by longtime pal U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz when, while touching upon how busy his schedule is, he said, “It’s going to get really busy on Thursday, apparently.”
Holder’s motorcade pulled up to the World Trade Center just as, mere yards away, Obama’s was leaving the Westin Hotel in the Seaport District for Logan International Airport following last night’s successful Democratic fundraiser at Symphony Hall.
Obama has also stymied Congress’ questions about “Fast and Furious” by exerting executive privilege for the first time in his presidency.
Ortiz, who has known Holder for 30 years, said he is “a person of integrity” who practically “grew up in the Department of Justice.”
“I think the attorney general is handling himself extremely well under the circumstances,” she said.

Harris Bank La Grange and the La Grange National Bank robbed by the Italian Orginized crime group called the Chicago outfit

The three men that robbed the First National Bank of La Grange are affiliated with the Chicago outfit
Joseph "Jerry" Scalise, 73, of Clarendon Hills; Robert "Bobby" Pullia, 69, of Plainfield; and Arthur "Art" Rachel, 71, of Chicago were charged with attempt and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in a 58-page criminal complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court in Chicago.
Judge Nan R. Nolan ordered the men held.
The three men have been the focus of a joint investigation between FBI and La Grange police since July 2007, when the men were suspected of robbing the Harris Bank branch at 1000 S La Grange Rd in July 2007. Approximately $120,000 was reported taken in that incident.
Using electronic surveillance, law enforcement officials this past December learned of plans to rob the First National Bank of La Grange at 620 W Burlington Ave. The suspects were observed on several occasions in the vicinity of the bank, most notably on Thursdays when an armored car routinely arrived at the bank to pick up substantial amounts of cash, police said.
All three men have extensive criminal records and ties to organized crime. In fact, they were arrested Thursday while attempting to break into the home of a deceased mob boss, Angelo "The Hook" LaPietra, who resided in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood.
Scalise and Rachel achieved notoriety in 1980 when they robbed a jeweler in London, England, of $3.6 million in valuables, including the 45-carat Marlborough Diamond. Following their arrest upon arriving at O'Hare airport, the duo was extradited back to London, where they were subsequently convicted and served 12 years in prison.

The three are now looking at charges of income tax invasion, conspericy to with hold earning, illegal gambling with out a license, and murder. U.S. District Court Attorney stated in a press release Friday that more charges are pending.
