Animals Rob Car Repair Shop In Alsip At Gun Point

According to the SouthTown

Two men shot at an Alsip auto body shop Tuesday has died, police said Wednesday morning.

Mohamed Salhia, 76, of Orland Park, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to a news release from the Alsip Police Department. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

The second shooting victim, a 43-year-old man, remained at Advocate Christ, where his condition was stabilized, according to police.

The man who allegedly shot the two employees was taken into police custody after a brief pursuit Tuesday, police said.

Upon responding to reports of gunfire at Ray's Towing and Recovery, 4340 W. 127th St., just after 1 p.m., officers found a person who had been battered by the gunman and two people shot inside the business, according to an earlier news release from police.

The battered person told officers that a man had shot the two others and fled in a vehicle, police said. All three were believed to be employees of Ray's, Alsip Police Chief Jay Miller said.

After securing the scene, police broadcast a description of the suspect and his vehicle to surrounding towns, the statement said. The two shot were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

A short time later, Oak Lawn officers spotted the suspect's vehicle at 107th Street and Pulaski Road and attempted to stop it, police said. When the man did not stop for the officers, a pursuit ensued. The suspect exited his vehicle at 95th Street and Central Park Avenue and was apprehended following a brief foot chase, police said.

At this point, police do not believe any other suspects were involved, although an investigation is ongoing, Miller said.

The auto body shop's head dispatcher, Elizabeth Easter, said she rushed to the scene after an employee at the shop called her around 1:45 p.m. to tell her Ray's had been robbed at gunpoint and two people had been shot.

She said the employee, a light service driver, told her a man had pulled a gun on him and then struck him with the weapon, knocking him unconscious. When he came to, he found the other two people shot and the robber gone, she said he told her.

Easter said she'd worked at Ray's for the past six years and that her employers were "awesome people to work for."

Police are still investigating what, if any, relationship the suspect may have had to those injured.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Alsip Police Department at 708-385-6902, ext. 246.

New Age Tile and Painting (Final)

We have concluded our investigation and based on what we found New Age Tile and Painting is liable for damages. The homeowner is only asking for 16,775 back however if this goes to court a judge may award a higher ammount plus court cost and lawyer fees.

Findings of the investigation:
The home owners of a 22,775.00 remodel paid the company in full a not so wise mistake but as the homeowner stated to us this was his first remodel and had no clue. Now the home owner is not disputing some of the things that this company is claiming they did, however the home owner has stated the reasons of termination which can't be disclosed due to civil litigation.

However the home owners did contact the Illinois Attorney General and they have confirmed that the case is closed due the fact that the Company refuse to cooperate in their investigations.

The email reads and we quote.
" Good Morning Sarge,
the information that you requested is as follows:

Mr. Mejia of New Age Tile and Painting refused to cooperate with this office and there for it was Keya Green's determination to close the case.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

 Sincerely

Ms. Hilda Aguirre
Investigations Supervisor for the
Illinois Attorney General's Office

Mr. Mejia stated that he did speak with them. Hmmm the email that we posted above says something different then what he told us below.

But needless to say here is what he claimed he told I.A.G.

Dear Keya Green

I am responding to File #2017-CONSC-00055624. We are currently seeking legal council for this matter. This is the 1st time in 21 years that I have come across this type of problem with a client. Many, if not all of the accusations are false and we have evidence to support the inconsistancies of the Deluca Complaint. In Delucas complaint they also failed to give addtional info to you about the added work and preexisting damage they asked New Age tile to repair. The fact s of the matter are (3) weeks into contract, New Age Tile was fire by Deluca. explained by Moira as she has" no more patience New Age Tile is fired. lack of progress". As of the beginning of the 3rd of contract, basement was close to completion 1 week left, masterbath was close to completion 1 week left, kitchen was more than 3/4rds done but was delayed because Deluca did not have funds to purchase remaining items for install, Deluca delayed purchase of kitchen flooring and did not buy cabinets when asked to by New Age Tile. All cabinet Designing and measurements needed for cabinets /flooring and quotes had been completed on 2nd week of contract for Deluca for an on time installation Documentation available to support New Age Tile Kitchen measuremets and cabinet design . in the second week of contract Deluca upgraded and modified Our contract to include and additional amount of labor and materials. Deluca upgrdaed MasterBathroom shower walls, to premium tile layout, and added custom tile work shower area...in basement Deluca added upon request, additional demolition, added premium crown molding, upgraded from standard lighting to 12 fixtures w/premium LED lighting and added additional tile areas to be tiled. Deluca asked that an additional (3) but total of(6) doors be replaced and not veneered. Deluca requested additional labor that the ktchen soffits be removed and drywall be put in its place. In addition to the added work Deluca requested,  the property had prexiting damage that was not specified in the contract. Kitchen window and floor has water damage and mold from a leaking window. Masterbathroom shower valve wall had water damaged wood framing, on the 3rd week of contract more prexisting damage is shown in his picture with the basement flooring wet because rear porch gutter and down spout was damaged ..  Deluca asked that New Age Tile do repairs. Notice of extension of time and additional labor and materials costs were given to Deluca family and also Realtor/advisor to Deluca Family on construction Dominic Capone email: prorealtor75@gmail.com (630)398-7144 was given. Now, lets review overall a very large percentage of work was completed within 3 weeks. I'm not sure what more I can explain at this time with out having approval from my Attorney. Please be clear. I Luis Mejia and New Age Tile will cooperate 100% to resolve this complaint asap.I also have a response to Deluca complaint " New Age Tile used friends and family some who are not professionals............" I will call you Tuesday 9/5/2017 to discuss this particularly sensitive topic. Thank you

Project Manager
New Age Tile

We have found this statement to be 15% accurate. How do you say well here is what we asked him and then he gave us the response.

Mr. Homeowner:
1)Did the company state that they would be working on the house from 8am till 6pm?

Yes Sarge they did infact my wife was sitting there with Mr. Majia and I and it was just the 3 of us qhen he had said it. We also have video proof that it was us because on the nany cams i have throughout the house and it is all on audio and video.

2) Did you inform them not to demo the kitchen until the cabinets arrived is this accurate?

Yes. Multiple times infront of my wife and a few times while i was on the phone with my friends or family.

3)Did he leave a home owners remodeling rights pamflit.

No. In fact i didn't know i was supposed to get one until i started talking to lawyers.

4)Did you order the flooring for the kitchen?

Yes. I did and i have the reciept to prove it plus i have the written document from the employee at Home Depot stating he spoke to Mejia omthe next day at 7am and is willing to testify in court to that.

New Age Tile and Painting:
1)Did you also state that you would be working on the house from 8am till 6pm?

No, I disclosed I work multiple projects. The Vendors I know have 9-5 jobs and we would be available on evenings, some days and weekends. Thats why every morning Phil was given a call and the days plans was discussed. I have phone records and text to prove.

2)That he had informed you not to demo the kitchen until the cabinets arrived is this accurate?

No he did not inform me not to demo the kitchen until cabinets are ready. again no.. He insisted that the kitchen be demo while the dumspter was on sight. phil set up demo for kitchen sept 22. he told me to get a crew ready for saturday. He told his wife to clean the kitchen out for that day... when saturday came, I came with 2 xtra workers, it was about 1030am. the kitchen still had pots and pans and food on shelves.. Phil started yelling at his wife to get hit cleaned.. she started to yell back and they get into an arguement. phil called her all kinds of names and was very upset. i stepped in and said we can demo the kitchen at a later date. I suggested the following week. and they agreed. the kitchen was demoed I believe on the 29th. once again per phil request. I have both of my workers availble for a statement if reuqested.

3)Did you not leave a home owners remodeling rights pamflit are these correct assessment?
( if you did leave a pamflit we would like a copy of his and his wifes singnature on it with yours as stipulated in the ILCS Illinois Compiled Statues)

no comment

4)Did he order the flooring for the kitchen and did you canceled the order?

yes he did order the flooring. but he order different flooring than was agreed upon. it was discussed in the beginning or planning and designing that all materials needs to be instock items in order to me our deadlines..since it was agreed upon that it was going to be neutral standard decor and colors. realtor, phil and I all agreed. once the purchasing began. the realtor suggested higher quality and specific items thta were not in stock. many items purchase were special order. with that all time lines and expectations got messy and unrealistic..

No. I did NOT cancel the kitchen flooring.. new age was fired and for 2 weeks after, the order was still not picked up. Homedepot called me numours times and I told them new age was fire by client that requires flooring. I said I will not be picking it up and that our contract with the client has been terminated. What they did with the order or if phil picked it up i have no idea.

According to the ILLINOIS COMPILED STATUES
815ILCS513 section 20(a) the company has to give a homeowners right pamflit for any work being done over 1,000.00 dollars.
By any company not furnishing one violates 815 ILCS 505 2(a1) under the home repair consumer fraud act.

Further more we have found out through the Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart that his deputies attempted to serve Mejia and came back no contact.

We also found out from the Indian Head Park Police that one of the guys Mejia refers to as a subcontractor for drywall was in the home making repairs while a uncle Emmanuel Arreola was arrested for criminal sexual assault on a minor on the weekend of July 2, it is alleged that it occurred while the subcontractor was in the home working while his 8 year old and the boys uncle were in a vehicle out side, on July 5, 2017 according to the Chicago Police District 25 he was arrested for domestic battery, on July 5, 2017 and a warrant  was issued out of Bridgeview and executed by the Chicago Police District 25 on July 28, 2017.

We also have a audio recording of Mr. Mejia asking the home owner if he wants Mr. Mejia to come to the home.

Voice recording:
"Homeowner.......Luis Jr. Has his son at the house and my wife isn't home and I need to head to work.

Mejia.....I am at home right now eating cause it is the 4th of July weekend but if you need me to I will be there in 45 minutes.

Homeowner....You need to do something because Jr. has his son here with his brother.

Mejia......Ok

But when we asked Mejia if he knew well this is what he said.

"My Vendor Jr.. a freind of new age tile .... that i subcontrated to do drywall.. was the father of the victim..Jr still does jobs for me... i dont know who earelio is .. didnt meet him.. he was not onsite as far as i know.....its disrespectful for phil to post maliciously and its offensive to jr to see on our site..we do not hire sex offendors or whatever phil os claiming.. i have a 14yrs daughter.. if i could talk and not text from a tiny smart phone i would tell you from my soul...i am Not trying to make things worse ..but it seems only a judge can turn this guys off.. so i welcome it"

Based on what Mejia has told us and the home owner it is our belief that Mejia is about 10% accurate in his statement and him nor the people he employes are crediable.

The home owners we feel are 95% accurate and have no reason to doubt their accreditation.

We are encouraging Mr. Mejia and New Age Tile and Painting to man up admit what he is doing is wrong and settle this out of court if he can before he makes it worse for himself.

Again based on the information given this is just our opinion on the facts of the case. I wish everyone well in this matter.

We also recomend that if anyone has been wronged by this company to notify the Illinois Attorney General's office and file a complaint on line.

I then notified a lawyer who submitted a 10 day notice of demand when that didn't work we filed a complaint with the court. Can you please help.
