Escaped Wildebeast shoots up 71st S. Clyde

At 430pm on May 4th 2012 shots rang out on the 7100 block of Chappell Ave in the South Shore Nieghborhood just weeks away from the Nato Summit. Several shots rang out only striking a women carrying a child the unknown women is in stable condition with a through and through in her leg, the child was not hurt at all. One of the stores in the shopping center was hit by the round. witnesses and gun experts say it sounded like a 44 mag. when it was discharged. Later on that evening at 630pm  Officer's from the Grand Crossing District stated that this may be retalitory in the matter of this second shooting that occurred in the 7100 block of Clyde one was dead at the scene and another in critical condition both were taken to Jackson Park Hospital.
A 16-year-old boy was killed in the West Pullman neighborhood Friday night, and seven others were wounded in shootings across the city.

The boy was found about 9:10 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his head on a sidewalk on the 12100 block of South Green Street, police said. Police had no other details about the shooting.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Donnel Rankin, of the 21700 block of South Clyde Avenue in Sauk Village.

About 1:15 a.m. Saturday, a 23-year-old man was shot on the 1200 block of North Wolcott Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood, according to police. He was walking with friends when someone walked up and started shooting, hitting the man once in the face and four more times in the body, police said. He's in critical condition at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said, but was awake and talking when police responded to the scene. The shooting is gang related, police said.

About 10 minutes before that, a 24-year-old man standing on the 300 block of West 107th Street heard gunshots and felt pain. He was taken to Roseland Hospital with a gunshot wound in his lower left leg, police said.

A 26-year-old man was shot about 10:35 p.m. Friday on the 2100 block of South Washtenaw Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood. He was standing on the sidewalk when someone opened fire, striking him. He's in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital with a wound to his upper right thigh, police said.

Three people were shot in two attacks within a block of each other today in the South Shore neighborhood, authorities said. Two were shot near 71st Street and Clyde Avenue about 7 p.m., said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

A 17-year-old boy was critically wounded in the attack. He's at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to his side and chest, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The other, a 21-year-old man, was shot in the leg and is in stable condition at the same hospital, Alfaro said. The shooting may have been a drive-by.

Less than a block away, at 71st Street and Chappel Avenue, a 54-year-old woman was shot in the hip about 4:30 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien. The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, he said.

Meanwhile, in the Rosemoor neighborhood on the Far South Side, a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 10600 block of South Indiana Avenue about 6:55 p.m. The man was taken to Roseland Hospital for treatment, but information on his condition wasn't available, Zala said
