The Illinois State Police announced to us that criminal charges have been filed on the driver of the gray charger. The state police stated the offender was charged with felony hit and run, driving on a suspended or revoked license, no insurance, and possession with intent to deliver. The state police stated that the driver was also issued tickets for following to close, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear seat belt, wreckless conduct, and expired plates. The trooper on scene stated the off duty security officer did an outstanding job in making sure no one else got hurt. Witnesses stated the charger was zipping in and out of traffic at speeds up to 100mph. They also stated the crown vic chasing the charger had emergency lights active in the rear and trailing at a safe speed and distance. Witnesses stated that the charger then slowed down allowing the crown vic to get in to position to keep the car pined. The state police stated that they will not be filing any other charges.
