Bank of America closes accounts on gun stores, manufacturers, and take homes away from military families as loved one fight over seas
Do you remember reading this on ABC News Break
At least 160 active members of the U.S. military had their homes “illegally foreclosed upon” by the Bank of America, according to the Justice Department.
While Americans honor their men and women in the armed forces today, the Justice Department announced that Bank of America’s home loan servicing subsidiary will have to pay $20 million to about 160 service members, as part of a settlement agreement. Each service member who lost his or her home in an unlawful foreclose will be paid a minimum of $116,785 — plus compensation for any lost equity that came as a result of the foreclosure. The foreclosures settled today came between 2006 and 2009.
Bank of America agreed to provide information about its foreclosures from mid-2009-2010 and will pay damages in the same minimum amount to those service members whose homes were illegally foreclosed upon during that time period. The review of those foreclosures is on-going
In the Quarterly News letter from the Illinois State Rifle Ass., The Daily Caller,Ar-15.com, Breaking news, and the AP. Have all posted this. Now Bank of America is turning bad in to worse. I don't know about you but I am pulling my money and accounts from them. Being anti gunn is one thing but not backing our military and foreclosing on their homes is another.
Bank of America came under fire for expressing desire to terminate their relationship with McMillan Firearms.
The Daily Caller has obtained a letter from Bank of America to Lawrence Keane, General Counsel of the National Shooting Sports Foundation regarding the bank’s relationship with firearm manufacturers in general.
Bank of America cannot discuss a specific account due to privacy reasons but Anne G. Pace, writing on behalf of Bank of America, states “I want to assure you and your organization that we do not have a policy that would deny banking services to entities because they are in the firearms industry.”
Pace goes on to write “We honor the rights and freedoms provided for in the U.S. Constitution and its amendments, including the Second Amendment.”
Further investigation has shown that Bank of America is the credit card provider for Bass Pro Shops, a national firearms retailer.
