Chicago - He's received more votes than any politician in Illinois history. Secretary of State Jesse White joined FOX Chicago Sunday to talk about whether he’s thinking about a fifth term in office.
The Secretary of State also spoke about the special role African Americans have played in Illinois politics.
Before Jesse White became Illinois's Secretary of State, he served in the General Assembly for many years as the only African-American who represented a majority white district. Black voters were about one-fourth of the district.
There is no one better, perhaps, to ask about how things have changed, and why Illinois has elected more African-Americans to major statewide office than just about any place else.
FOX Chicago Sunday asked White about his reaction to federal corruption charges brought against a state lawmaker who White helped put into office.
