Multiple Shot throughout the entire City and Obama says Chicago is the Safetest City in the country

About 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Darrius Boyd, 25, was shot on the 8600 block of South Kingston Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said.

Boyd sustained a gunshot wound to his head and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:09 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and police.

Two men, ages 25 and 18, both cousins, and a 23-year-old pregnant woman were injured in a 5:30 p.m. shooting on the 9400 block of South Rhodes Avenue in the Burnside neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said. A gunman emerged from a gangway and shot them before fleeing in a dark-colored van, police said.

Both men were in critical condition, police said. The 25-year-old was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and the 18-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The 6-month pregnant woman was hospitalized at Christ and her condition had stabilized,police said. She suffered a wound to her leg.

According to earlier reports from police, the two men died from their wounds, but police said this morning that they are still alive.

At about 2 a.m., three men in their 20s were shot on the 6900 block of South Morgan Street in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said. A 28-year-old man was released from the hospital after being struck in the foot, and the others, ages 25 and 26, were taken with gunshot wounds to the leg to Stroger Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.

The latter two men are believed to have gang affiliations, police said.
Earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot about 10:40 p.m. during a robbery on the 100 block of East 68th Street in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side, said News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro, citing preliminary information.
The man had been walking down the sidewalk when a group of males approached him and robbed him, police said. When the man tried to run away, he was shot in the calf.

He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center in good condition, police said.

A 14 year-old girl and a 22-year old man were also injured in a drive-by shooting at about 9:20 p.m. on the 1500 block of South Kedvale Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The two had been standing near a street corner when someone fired shots from a light-colored car passing by, police said.

The girl was shot in the lower back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, Alfaro said. The man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the calf.

Earlier, a teenage boy was shot in the shoulder at about 4 p.m. on the 800 block of East 87th Street in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, Purkiss said. The teen, who is 14 years old, was taken to Comer Children's Hospital on the University of Chicago Hospital campus, where his condition has stabilized.

Also on Sunday, a 14-year-old boy was shot in the left leg at about 2:45 p.m. on the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, police said. The teen was taken to Comer Children's, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Two 15-year-old boys were struck by bullets Sunday night at about 10:05 p.m. on the 6900 block of South Halsted Street in Englewood, police said. One of the teens was grazed in the upper back, and the other was struck in the finger. Both were reported to be in good condition.

Someone shot a 21-year-old man sitting on a porch early Sunday in the Lawndale neighborhood.

The victim was on a porch in the 2800 block of South Harding about 2:25 a.m. when someone inside a dark colored sport-utility vehicle that drove past fired shots, hitting him in the back, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

Alfaro said the victim’s condition had stabilized and he’d been taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. No one was arrested.

A man was shot and killed early Sunday in the Austin Community on the West Side, police said.
The victim, 21, was on a sidewalk walking with relatives in the 0-100 block of North Central Avenue when a gunman on foot confronted him and shot multiple times in the chest, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

 36-year-old man was pronounced dead after being shot today on a sidewalk in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, officials said.

The shooting happened at 11:31 a.m. on the 0-100 block of South Pulaski Road, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

When police responded they found the man dead, laying on the sidewalk with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, Zala said.

The man was identified as Claude Snulligan of the 1600 block of South Drake Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesman said.

18 Shot in Blue Island dead

An 18-year-old man was fatally wounded steps away from his home in south suburban Blue Island, officials said.

Bryant M. Jones of the 2900 block of West 141st Place was shot on the 2800 block of West 141st Place. He was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

There was no immediate information available from the Blue Island Police Department about the circumstances leading up to Jones' death.

Quinn claims that his bill would "...make Illinois a safer place." Of course, lawful Illinois firearm owners know better. We know that Quinn's true aim is to obliterate private firearm ownership in the state. Closer analysis of Quinn's bill reveals a host of opportunities for Quinn and his buddy Emanuel to make life miserable for the state's lawful firearm owners. Here is just a partial list of what this bill would do, if passed: 1. Ban the manufacture, possession or sale of nearly every semiautomatic rifle, pistol and shotgun you own. 2. Specifically ban Glock pistols since they share a common design with the Glock 18, a select fire handgun. 3. Require you to register every semiautomatic firearm and every magazine you own that exceeds 10 round capacity. The kicker is that, under Quinn's proposal, the State Police can charge you unlimited fees to register your guns. Thus if Quinn's bill passes, you could very well find yourself paying $100 or even $1,000 per firearm per year to comply with the law. Additionally, you could find yourself paying $50, $100 or even $500 per year for each "high capacity" magazine you own. Can't pay? Well then you would have to surrender your guns to the State Police for destruction. This is just a taste of what you could expect from Quinn's gun ban. Twists and turns in the bill would certainly open up the doors to taxation, regulation, and outright bans on every civilian owned firearm in the state. Oh, and one thing is for sure, you can forget about concealed carry if Quinn's gun ban passes. ...



Social Security buys ammunition

First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.

A solicitation posted by the SSA on the FedBizOpps website asks for contractors to supply 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.” An online ammunition retailer describes the bullets as suitable “for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns,” noting that the ammo is “a great personal defense bullet.”

The synopsis to the solicitation adds that the ammunition is to be shipped to 41 locations within 60 days of purchase. A separate spreadsheet lists those locations, which include the Social Security headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland as well as major cities across the country including Los Angeles, Detroit, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle.

Hollow point bullets are designed to expand as they enter the body, causing maximum damage by tearing apart internal organs.

It’s not outlandish to suggest that the Social Security Administration is purchasing the bullets as part of preparations for civil unrest. Social security welfare is estimated to keep around 40 per cent of senior citizens out of poverty. Should the tap run dry in the aftermath of an economic collapse which the Federal Reserve has already told top banks to prepare for, domestic disorder could ensue if people are refused their benefits. ...

Remember the man who took Daley to court over the 2nd Amendment

Pastor Kenn Blanchard let me know earlier today that Second Amendment hero Otis McDonald was admitted to the ICU at a Chicago hospital. He was admitted for a cerebral blood clot. Mr. McDonald has been a fighter all of his life but this may be his toughest battle.

Kenn didn't know Mr. McDonald's current condition but requested prayers for him. I second that and would add that we need to keep his family in our prayers as well

Otis McDonald, the man for whom the landmark 2010 Second Amendment victory before the U.S. Supreme Court, essentially nullifying the Chicago handgun ban, will be a headliner at the upcoming Gun Rights Policy Conference, sponsored by the Bellevue-based Second Amendment Foundation.

This year’s event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency located in the airport terminal complex at Orlando, Fla., is co-sponsored by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

McDonald was one of five individual plaintiffs in the historic case, which incorporated the Second Amendment to the states via the 14th Amendment. That case, filed by SAF almost immediately after the 2008 high court ruling was announced in District of Columbia v. Dick Anthony Heller – affirming that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual civil right – was joined by the Illinois State Rifle Association.

SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb confirmed to the Examiner that McDonald will be at GRPC, which runs Sept. 28-30. There is still time to pre-register for the free event, and on Tuesday, SAF and CCRKBA staffers in Bellevue were busily packing five full palates of books and other giveaway materials that are in transit to Orlando.

McDonald is a soft-spoken gentleman of the proverbial “old school.” Profiled in a 2010 Weekly Standard article, the 78-year-old McDonald epitomizes the "American story." Born in the Deep South, he migrated north to Chicago when he was a 17-year-old and pulled himself up from a starting job as a janitor to the position of maintenance engineer. He married, bought a home on Chicago’s far South Side, and began raising a family. And now his name is permanently etched into the framework of U.S. history; not bad for a teenager who started out with virtually nothing but a work ethic and some dreams that all teens seem to share.

It was only after his home was broken into and he was threatened once by a neighborhood thug that McDonald traveled to Springfield for a gun rights rally and was transformed from a neighborhood activist into a future gun rights icon. All he wanted was a gun to defend his home and family, and what he encountered was a city ordinance that essentially mandated that he and his neighbors resign themselves to victimhood.

SAF learned about McDonald and went to work with attorneys Alan Gura in Virginia and David Sigale in Chicago. It took two years for the case to reach the Supreme Court, with Gura arguing for the plaintiffs. The court also heard from attorney Paul D. Clements, representing the National Rifle Association, which had a similar case against Chicago.

Last year when the GRPC convened in Chicago, McDonald, with his proud family looking on, was honored with the CCRKBA Lifetime Achievement award. The standing ovation was the kind reserved for genuine heroes.

Since its Supreme Court victory, SAF has been very busy, filing lawsuits all over the map and so far racking up a fair number of wins in the lower courts. There have been wins in Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina and in a follow-up suit in Chicago over that city’s new handgun ordinance, and that just scratches the surface.

SAF, CCRKBA and NRA teamed up to strike down the attempt by Seattle to ban firearms in city parks, solidifying Washington’s model preemption statute on gun regulation.

In the legal arena, SAF might be likened to the Little Engine that Could; an organization with a very small staff and good attorneys that just keeps chugging and winning. Gottlieb believes a major reason for this is because “We find good plaintiffs and good causes.”

They also put together a good conference, now in its 27th year. This gathering brings together many if not most of the “Top Guns” in the firearms community for a weekend of panel discussions and networking with grassroots activists from all over the country. Many will be coming just to meet McDonald and shake his hand. He was willing to take on one of the most powerful city halls in the country, and win. ...

Despite the issue receiving national media attention, Black Obama supporters continue to threaten to riot if Mitt Romney wins the presidential election, raising the prospect of civil unrest if Obama fails to secure a second term.

The new threats continue to dominate Twitter and the vast majority make no reference to press coverage of the issue over the last week, illustrating the fact that they are a legitimate expression of how many Obama voters plan to respond if Romney comes out on top, and not merely a reaction to media hype.

An Infowars.com story written by Michael Snyder which was picked up by the Drudge Report over the weekend and has since gone viral documented how Twitter was flooded with messages from black Obama supporters threatening to riot, a sign that “whichever side loses this election will accuse the other side of stealing the election.”

The story was subsequently picked up by innumerable media outlets. Highly respected economist and philosopherThomas Sowell also voiced his concerns that race riots could ensue if Obama is not re-elected.

Checking Twitter feeds this morning, we discovered that threats to riot on behalf of Obama supporters are still flooding in, with the users seemingly unaware of the fact that the media has now picked up on the buzz.

We checked the Twitter accounts and virtually all of them are owned by people who have made hundreds or thousands of previous tweets, proving they are genuine accounts and not fakes.
