Breaking news Taliban kinaps 9 in Helicopter

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — A Turkish civilian helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in a Taliban-controlled area of eastern Afghanistan, and the insurgents took all nine people aboard the aircraft hostage, including eight Turks, officials said Monday.
The transport helicopter landed in strong winds and heavy rain on Sunday in a village in the Azra district of Logar province, southeast of Kabul and 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the Pakistan border, said district governor Hamidullah Hamid.
Taliban fighters then captured all nine aboard the helicopter and took them from the area, Hamid told The Associated Press. He said most of the nine civilian hostages are Turks but that one is an Afghan translator.
In Ankara, a spokesman at Turkey's Foreign Ministry told the AP that there were eight Turks aboard the helicopter but did not know if it also was carrying other civilians or what their nationalities were. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with ministry regulations, had no information about the condition of the civilians.
Turkey's semi-official Anadolu news agency quoted Logar Deputy Police Chief Resishan Sadik Abdurrahminzey as saying that "a large number" of policemen were being sent to the region to rescue the hostages.Click to read more

Gunfire Erupted on Federalway

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Gunfire erupted at an apartment complex in a city south of Seattle and five people were shot to death, including a suspect who was shot by arriving officers, police said early Monday.  Officers responding to an emergency call at 9:30 p.m. PDT Sunday at the apartments in Federal Way encountered a chaotic scene, with bullets flying.
"When officers arrived there were still shots being fired," said Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.
They found two injured men on the ground in a parking lot. One of the men reached for a gun as police moved in to assist the two, she said.
At that point, officers opened fire. The suspect died but police said it wasn't immediately clear if it was from their gunfire.
The other man on the ground and a third man in the parking lot were found dead.
In a search of the complex, police found a fourth man dead in one apartment and a slain woman in another unit. Schrock said police were trying to determine if the woman was accidentally hit by gunfire.
A total of eight officers fired their weapons, Schrock said. All have been placed on administrative leave, per standard policy, as the investigation continues.
There was no immediate word what set off the shooting.
"We're gonna continue to go door to door in hopes that we can find some additional witnesses, and hopefully we won't be finding any more victims." Schrock said. "We still don't have any idea what started this disturbance tonight."
After police flooded the area and carried out searches, authorities said they were confident there were no more casualties from the shooting.
They said they did not think another shooter was on the loose or that there was an immediate threat to the public.
There were no reports of any officers being injured, and the names of the five people who were killed were not immediately available.
Federal Way is about 20 miles south of Seattle.

President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.”
“The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.”

As he spoke, Mr. Obama was surrounded by family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Also with him was former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, wounded in an assassination attempt.
Senators voted 54-46 late Wednesday to expand background checks of gun purchases, six votes shy of the 60 needed for passage of the amendment.
The vote was a huge blow to the president’s efforts since the Newtown, Conn., school massacre last December to enact a broad package of new gun laws. Mr. Obama and his team had considered background checks the most likely gun restriction to be approved by Congress, with polls showing as much as 90 percent of the public in favor of the measure immediately after the Newtown shootings.
The president put the blame squarely on the NRA, which he accused of spreading falsehoods that the legislation would lead to a national gun registry.
“They claimed that it would create some sort of big-brother gun registry, even though it did the  opposite,” Mr. Obama said. “This pattern of spreading untruths … served a purpose. A minority in the U.S. Senate decided it wasn’t worth it. They blocked common-sense gun reforms, even while these families looked on from the Senate gallery. It’s not going to happen because 90 percent of Republicans just voted against that idea.”
Mark Barden, father of 7-year-old Daniel who was killed in Newtown, said any father in America could be in his shoes.
It’s a proposal that will save lives,” he said of the measure. “We’ll return home now, disappointed but not defeated. We’ve always known this will be a long road. We will keep moving forward and build public support. We will not be defeated. We are not going away.”
Mr. Obama vowed not to give up on seeking more gun restrictions.
“You’ve got to send the right people to Washington,” he told voters. “That requires strength and it requires persistence. I see this as just Round One. Sooner or later, we are going to get this right. The memories of these children demand it.”

Letter sent to Obama tested positive for ricin, official says

 White House suspicious package

WASHINGTON --An envelope addressed to President Obama and intercepted at a mail processing facility has tested positive for the poison ricin, a law enforcement official said Wednesday.
Officials are conducting additional tests to confirm the result, said the official, who was not authorized to speak to the press because the tests are part of an ongoing investigation. Investigators believe the letter to the White House may have been sent by the same person who mailed a suspicious envelope to Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.).
The Secret Service confirmed that a “suspicious substance” was found on a letter addressed to the president and intercepted Tuesday. Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan did not comment on the nature of the substance.
“The Secret Service is working closely with the U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI in this investigation,” Donovan said in a statement.
FBI field offices in Baltimore and Jackson, Miss., are also assisting in the investigation.
All White House mail is processed at a remote facility not located at the White House complex. It is common for letters to be flagged and tested for suspicious substances, officials said.

Obama's immigration reform will cause more problems

I am Sorry but if a white president did the shit this ape has been doing he would have been impeached but because he a half white half black man oh lets keep his lying ass in office. His thing is Immigration reform when we have our own people to worry about. Everyone is crying broke and like a typical Chicago Politician  in stead of cutting back he spend more and more. He promised to bring home our troops he has not he promised more jobs yea ok not he has only kept his promises to his family and that is a dog and lots of vacations on the tax payers. Now this Obama the great liar wants immigration reform  why, don't we have enough illegals jumping our borders taking what is not theirs like thieves. One reader wrote us this. " If I was president I would not make promises except for one and Goerge Washington said it best let the other countries in the world start and finish their wars as they have nothing to do with us. So If I ran for president I would not say I would do.
I would close all of the over seas bases, I would pull us out of the U.N., I would repeal Obama care, I would repeal the NDDA, I would tell all illegals they have 24 hours to leave the U.S. or they will be hunted down arrested and thrown out of this country and if they return they will pay with their life spent in a military jail, all U.S. forces will reopen or build new bases as our borders will be closed to our enemy countries, Child care will be top priority along with education, and policing. The U S will issue through the already in place Secretary of State a Driver's License that will bear the seal of the US and will bear your current d.l. number attached to that number will be your national carry permit as all states will honor concealed carry or open carry as it is written in our 2nd amendment, criminal such as felons will not be able to enjoy this freedom. Voting reform If you are incarcerated or have been convicted of a felony you will lose your right to vote and possess a firearm. If you are a known gang banger and drug dealer and charged of any crime that makes a person to fear for their safety will be sent to a prison for terrorist. Effective immediately Alcatraz is to be purchased remodeled and reopen to house terrorists. The building will be state of the art with electrical fencing going as deep in to the ground as possible with razor wire outer fencing.  All gun laws will be stricken repealed and rewritten as back ground checks are important but not just to stores, or to gun shows but the private seller as well will be obligated to conduct a back ground check.  Magazine ban will be lifted as the police will be able to obtain the same fire power as our military and those rifles will be owned by the police department and housed, maintained, and picked up before each officer leaves for patrol. If a car has two officer's then both officer's should have a military rifle in the car along with a shot gun mounted to the dash board. Public aid will start asking for proof of citizenship just like the government does when obtaining a pass port. effective my inauguration the presidents office will only make 200 thou a year and state reps and congress 175 thou a year, state governors will be at 75 thou a year and so on and so forth this would be an executive order. Jobs would go back to the private sector. All bail outs will be paid back by the end of my first year or the CEO of the banks and business that took them will be foreclosed on by the tax payers. North Korea a joke no threat but if you launch one bomb that is not a test or in to an area that is at civilians or other countries we will declare it as an act of war and we will wipe your country off the map. This is what I would do as president Sarge . "
