Sarges Update: George Zimmerman wants delay of trial

SANFORD – A judge has denied George Zimmerman's request to delay his trial in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The trial remains set for June 10.
Zimmerman is the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer charged with second-degree murder for shooting Trayvon, who was unarmed, after calling police and describing him as suspicious.
The day's events began in front of the Seminole County Courthouse with family members and supporters singing "Happy Birthday" to Trayvon, who would have turned 18 today.
The legal arguments began at 9 a.m. Defense attorney Mark O'Mara acknowledged the teen's birthday at the start of the hearing, stating that "no matter what, a tragedy occurred."

Next up, O'Mara asked the judge to grant the defense access to purchase records from a 7-Eleven where Trayvon shopped the night of the shooting. The state did not object, and the judge granted the motion.

O'Mara also wanted Zimmerman's trial delayed. O'Mara argued he can't possibly be ready.
"The only additional argument is I need more time," O'Mara said in court today.
Prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda says O'Mara doesn't deserve any more time.
"It's February and the trial's set for June," he said, adding that some delays that have happened so far have been the defense's fault.
"Sometimes we set aside days of depositions, and they're canceled.. that's frustrating," de la Rionda said.
The judge noted that both parties had earlier estimated they would be ready by June. O'Mara's issues, the Circuit Judge Debra Nelson said, don't appear to be "insurmountable."
The parties then moved on to other pieces of evidence O'Mara argues he needs.
The attorneys argued about data downloaded from Trayvon's phone. O'Mara has said there's information the state is withholding.
Nelson told the state to provide a full chain of custody report for the phone, indicating which tests were conducted where.
O'Mara also asked the judge to order the state to provide further information on the social media accounts of Witness 8.
She's expected to be one of the state's most important witnesses because she says she heard the first words of the confrontation between Trayvon and Zimmerman.
The judge ruled that the defense can get the social media information through a "mini" deposition, before the witness is formally deposed.
Once the hearing is over, there'll be another rally. At 2 p.m. two groups that were at odds in the days immediately following Trayvon's shooting – Sanford police and the NAACP – are among the sponsors of a peace and anti-gun violence rally in Goldsboro, an historically black Sanford neighborhood.
Sanford's mayor, city manager, plus attorneys for Trayvon's family are to speak. So are community leaders.

Sheriff of Tent City and inmate pink says no charges

February 4, 2013 (PHOENIX) -- It looks like Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has become a victim of credit-card fraud.
Sheriff officials said Monday that Arpaio's credit-card information was stolen and used to make a $291 transaction at a Chicago grocery store last weekend.
Arpaio says he hasn't been to Chicago in years and his credit-card company alerted him to possible fraudulent activity.
The Arizona Republic says it's still unclear whether Arpaio's credit card was stolen or if the transaction was made by another means.
He says his card has been canceled to prevent any further fraudulent use as authorities try to figure out what happened.

President is illegaly in possesion of firearm

We notified the Illinois State Police FOID line at 217-782-7980 and spoke with Chris who has informed us that President Obama may or may not have a valid FOID issued from his home state.
The State Police also stated that he does not fall under the freedom of information act when it comes to FOID politicians.

WASHINGTON — Facing questions about President Obama’s experience with firearms, the White House has released a photo of the chief executive in the act of firing one.
Obama, in an interview published by the New Republic, claimed that had used a gun at the Camp David presidential retreat. "We do skeet shooting all the time," the president said. "Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there."
That prompted snickering from some of the president's conservative critics and questions for the president's press secretary. On Monday, Jay Carney was asked whether there was a photo of Obama shooting. “There may be, but I haven’t seen it,” the spokesman said. “When he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.”
The photo released Friday shows smoke coming from the barrel as Obama holds the gun against his left shoulder. The White House caption accompanying the photo by Pete Souza, the official White House photographer, notes: "President Barack Obama shoots clay targets on the range at Camp David, Md., Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012."
Obama has made addressing gun violence one of his major priorities in his second term. In the New Republic interview, he explained that he had "profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations." But he also noted that “the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the reality of guns in rural areas,” where he said children often grow up hunting with their families. “You can see why you’d be pretty protective of that,” he continued. “So it’s trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months.”

A letter to Congressional hearing Commision

Dear Congressional Hearing Commision,

 

         Our Declaration of Independence is the document our Founders created when they decided to throw off the chains of England and become a free country. But America today is not free.

Our President sits at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue making a mockery of our country and our Constitution on a daily basis. He is abusing his office. We the people must limit his power.

Barack Obama has spent four years passing the buck of his presidency to George Bush and the Republicans, blaming them for every problem in America. But a couple of weeks ago, Obama took the oath of office for his second term and inherited a country in despair.

This time, there can be no debate. It is Barack Hussein Obama’s fault. Yet while the facts keep getting more dismal for America, Obama turns his attention to socialist programs like nationalized healthcare (which is going to bankrupt us in many ways), illegal immigration (again, something that will bankrupt us for years to come) and attacks on our Bill of Rights.

His reign of destroying the Constitution must end. Many of his actions are unconstitutional and Members of Congress must get serious and consider impeachment charges, immediately.

 

A U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington has ruled unanimously that Obama’s three appointments to the National Labor Relations Board in January 2012 were unconstitutional. U.S. Circuit Judge David Sentelle wrote, “Considering the text, history and structure of the Constitution, these appointments were invalid from their inception.”

Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution gives the President authority to appoint senior federal officials if the Senate is in recess. In this case, they were not. Obama simply ignored the law. (Entire article below)

It is a pattern of his. He has violated Habeas Corpus by signing into law the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows the government to detain United States citizens without a trial.

He ordered his Justice Department to no longer enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, and has consistently refused to allow States to enforce immigration law. He ignored the WARN Act just before the election. He refused to prosecute New Black Panther Party members who disenfranchised voters in Pennsylvania.

He oversaw the huge Fast and Furious Operation and subsequent cover-up, an illegal operation meant to gain support for gun control that led to the deaths of several Americans.

He also stood idly by while our Libyan ambassador and three other brave Americans were killed in Benghazi. It was an election year. He didn’t want to act. So, he let them die.

Impeachment is not a far-fetched idea. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution reserves for Congress alone the power to declare war, yet Obama authorized the use of military force in Libya without Congressional approval, which raised some eyebrows among Republicans. Now, Members of Congress are worried he is going to do the same thing again in Syria. And this time, even Democrats are making noises about impeachment should he do so.

Rep. Trey Radel said, “It is one of those times in our history, we are at this breaking point. “We have completely lost our checks and balances in this country, the Congress needs to hold the president accountable for the decisions that he’s making right now…all options should be on the table.”

Impeachment charges are necessary if we are going to stop this chain of abuses and turn the country around. Obama is not governing by the Constitution, and we get the impression he is not all that interested in the document and the freedoms it provides in the first place.

A gallon of gas at his inaugural in 2009 was $1.84; TODAY, IT IS OVER $3.00 AND QUICKLY APPROACHING $4.00

Welfare spending in 2009 was $563 billion; TODAY, IT IS $1.03 TRILLION

The U.S. national debt in 2009 was $10 trillion; TODAY, IT IS $16.4 TRILLION

And, the median household income has decreased in 4 years from $52,195 to $50,054

Yes, this is the change he promised. And it is the change that will destroy America.

What will America look like in January 2017? For another four years, America will be burdened with a President who refuses to uphold the law of the land—unless we stand together as American citizens and demand a lawful leader.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the ......street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........? An 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous, illegal immigrants.......and she wins. She is still alive. Great tribute Chicago FD!! Well done brothers and sisters and thank you American Airlines!
I'm making my connection at O'Hare just in time to notice CFD after CFD rig, warning lights on, pulling up to my gate. This followed by CFD Battalion 6 and several CPD units as well. 11 FD units and several PD. While this is going on and as the firefighters and police officers stage outside of their rigs, k...eep in mind it is 1 degree F above zero without the wind chill, a traveler says "Must be not too big a deal with them all standing around like that." After about 30 minutes or so in the cold, an American Airlines MD80 passenger jet pulls up and as it does all of the FD and PD personnel line up at attention. After it stopped at the gate they re-positioned, came to attention, and were joined by a US Army Honor Unit along with a Staff Sergeant. After more time in the cold the next thing you see is a flag draped casket removed from the plane. Needless to say, the mistaken traveler had a different view. Thank you American Airlines for doing the right thing, again, thank you to the Chicago FD for being a first class act, and God Bless this soldier and their family!
